WHAT IS THERE TO DO?

OUR STORY

Ballarat Bird World is a place built from love, patience and a whole lot of hands-on hard work. Our story began with a simple love for birds and grew into a space where families, friends and curious visitors can wander, explore and feel connected to nature again.

We care for every part of this place ourselves. From tending to the birds each morning to looking after the gardens and the small details that make people smile. The animatronic dinosaurs, the fossil dig area and the maze were all created by hand. Every piece of it was shaped by the same people who welcome you at the door. It is something we are really proud of because it represents years of creativity, problem-solving and heart.

When you visit, you become part of that story. We love seeing children being immersed around the dinosaurs, completely caught up in the magic of it all. We love watching families take photos, wander through the aviaries and enjoy the quiet moments that you can only get when you are surrounded by nature.

Our hope is that Ballarat Bird World gives people a place to slow down, learn something new and share memories that stay with them. This business means a lot to us, and every person who walks through the gates helps keep it going.

Thank you for being here with us and supporting a small, family-built place that comes from the heart.

Fantastic place to visit, lots of fun, great food. Owners seem so lovely :) Only issues: -the toilet paper is super thin and scratchy -it’s a bit outdated and cluttered

Absolutely amazing.. it's a great experience to be around native birds, although the number of birds is much less.. boardwalk and facility is well maintained.. make sure to take a stop at cockatoo and parrot to have a small talk.. then take a stop at the pond to feed the ducks.. maze is fun too. Small cafe inside..

This is a truly impressive place, and I would highly recommend it to visitors and families. There are many different birds to see, and the entrance fee is very affordable. The environment and atmosphere are peaceful and enjoyable. This place has been open since 1992, which means it has been operating for 33 years now. There are not many staff members inside, This birds world it has become a nostalgic place and a wonderful memory for many people. I really hope more tourists will visit, so there will be more support and income to help maintain and improve the park, including the gardens, animal enclosures, and facilities. Inside, there are several free activities for children, such as mini golf, a maze, and a fossil digging area. These activities allow kids to spend quality time with their families and friends. There is also a fish-feeding pond, which feels like a relaxing terrace area, and there are ducks around as well. The park also offers a buffet-style feeding area for local cockatoos. You can admire their beauty from a distance, because they do not fully trust humans. After finishing the activities, there is a small souvenir shop where you can buy some gifts before leaving.

Such great value and a fun day out for the whole family. Kids loved getting prizes for completing the maze. Lots of birds to see then a break for coffee and icecream before playing the giant connect four. Oh and food to feed the fish was included in entrance fee.
